Tips for Hosting Cocktail Parties
I could go on and on about this, but check out the following article from Imbibe Magazine on Tap: “How to Throw a Cocktail Party.” All the necessary information is in there, really, but here are some basic tips:
- Be a good host, not a “too-busy-to-talk-to-you” bartender.
- Keep the drink selection simple — one or two cocktails, an alternative wine and/or beer, and something non-alcoholic.
- Have a steady supply of chilled water on hand, either in bottles or in a pitcher.
- Serve some food alongside the drinks — crackers, meats, cheeses, veggies — y’know, finger food, nothing crazy, and not a 5-course formal dinner.
